«Musik für ein Feld» is a piece for 4 saxophones and electronics commissioned by the Konus Saxophone Quartet and written by Tomas Korber in 2011 and 2013 (revised electronic section) and recorded/mixed in 2013.
The composition comprises nine movements. Various parameters (such as pitch and sound-silence ratios) are defined by a recurrence relation which is responsible for the fractal-like appearance of the composition.
The piece was specifically conceived for interaction with the acoustic environment of the listener. The listener is thus encouraged to experiment with varying settings (different rooms and/or playback systems, different type and level of background noise, etc).
